Description

“Light on a Hill” by Oliver Johnson

Oliver informally studied art in Tucson amid the beautiful Sonoran landscape and is best known for his oil landscapes. His painting Light on a Hill is a beautiful painting depicting the rebuilt temple in Nauvoo, which stands facing west, overlooking the expansive Mississippi River. Originally the temple was designed by Mormon architect William Weeks under the direction of Joseph Smith and was reconstructed in 2002. This painting is a beautiful testament to the sacrifice and dedication of the Saints of old and the Saints of modern times.
