On January 29, 1844 the Prophet Joseph Smith launch his campaign to run for the President of the United States after a disappointing visit to Washington D.C.   He visited the country’s capitol in hopes of finding protection from the Federal Government for the Saints who were suffering from severe persecution.  President Van Buren was unsympathetic of their plea.  This poster is an artistic creation of a Joseph Smith Presidential poster.
