This warm & peaceful piece is an artistic rendition of the old Johnson homestead in southern Utah. Joel Hills Johnson was among the early Saints who fled Nauvoo and settled in the Rocky Mountains. After establishing Salt Lake as a safe stronghold, Brigham Young called other families to continue settling outlying areas in the desert. Joel Hills & his family settled the Richfield UT area before eventually settling in the Mexican colonies. Artist: Matt Kennedy
