1840's English Style Porcelain Tea Set
1840's English Style Porcelain Tea Set
Many of the early Saints were immigrants from countries like England, Scotland, Sweden, and Finland.. to name a few. They brought with them a few precious pieces of their family's heirloom china. Building the Nauvoo temple was an enormous sacrifice in the 1840's and nearly everyone volunteered their time, talents, money, and even their few reminders from home and the families they left behind. Our faithful women volunteered to crush their precious china so the temple could have the beautiful red & blue stained glass windows.
These dishes are historic replicas of the heirloom china the early Saints lovingly & carefully crushed because they loved the Lord.
